Please join us for a joyful and unifying musical play-in, celebrating the hopes for a better tomorrow for all of us. Music is a universal language and one of inclusion, regardless of political or religious beliefs, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.
Dr. Dale Stuckenbruck, professional violinist, and multi- instrumentalist, will lead us in playing and exploring music from around the world, from composers both well and lesser known to us. Diversity of the music is no different than the diversity of who we are as “one people” …. And so, connecting all of us together via the power of music was the reason this event was conceived.
We will explore and play movements, or parts of movements, from some of the below listed composers: Quincy Porter, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Grieg, Rossini, Bartok, Bach, Elgar, De Falla, Griffes, J. Elizondo, Sharma, Ziad, and composers of folk repertoire.
This event is open to string players (violin, viola, bass, cello) and some recorders, flutes, and bassoons. As we have limited space, please be sure to sign up early. Deadline is October 9th.
Contact Janet Hoffman ([email protected]) for an application. Upon receipt of your application and a $20 fee, links for you to access the music as per your instrument will be sent to you.
Participants should bring your downloaded music (as we will not supply copies to anyone the day of the event), a pencil, a music stand, and a stand light (optional).
“This event was made possible, in part, through the support of the Associated Chamber Music Players (www.acmp.net) . The mission of ACMP is to stimulate and expand the playing of chamber music for pleasure among musicians worldwide, of all backgrounds, ages and skill levels, by connecting people and supporting chamber music activities for individuals, groups, and institutions.) Repertoire will be sent prior to the play-in
